Gurm Gamle, King of Denmark from 840, 1815. Gurm Gamle (Gormo) wearing a leather corselet over a tunic, a hat/crown of many folds and holding the sceptre/hammer of the northern kings in the form of a Tau cross. He leans on a stone showing Odin on his eight-footed mount Sleipner. Alonngside the king, a young Danish warrior carries an axe (bipennis) and wears greaves on his legs. Aquatint 1815
