Ponkapoag Pond is in the Blue Hills of Massachusetts, not to far from the Great Blue Hill (from which the local PBS TV station gets its call letters from, as the transmitter sits atop the site. Hence the call letters WGBH). The Appalachian Mountain Club maintains a campsite in this part of the blue hills.
