This ancient plane tree on corner of Wood Street and Cheapside in City of London is on the site of St Peter Cheap, and features in a Wordsworth poem.
The tree was originally in the churchyard of the mediaeval church of St Peter Cheap which had been destroyed in the Fire of London. Over 250 years old, it is though to be the oldest Plane tree in the City and is protected from development.
