OWING to the fact that insurance companies andothers of the powers that be, have in some casesraised objections to the selling of power fromrailway circuits, it is fitting that we should present inthese columns a few arguments in favor of such practice-The objections raised are of course, based on the factthat one side of railway circuits is grounded and this isnot in accordance with the time honored theory that nogrounded circuits should be allowed in buildings. Whilewe do not doubt the advisability of this rule at the timeit was adopted, we think that the time is past when itshould, without modification, be insisted on. In the earlydajs of electric lighting the best insulation obtainablewas poor compared to that in use today, and what is stillmore important, the electrical fraternity had not beeneducated up to the necessity of care in running the case is different, and there
