The Knights Brigade has Soldiers in multiple countries across the European continent - including Greece. Our Soldiers, alongside our NATO partner, have been providing a Life Support Area (LSA) for the transient unit, 1st Armored Division CAB, in Alexandropolis, Greece. This LSA has multiple logistical commodities from across the Brigade to include fuel from 240th Composite Supply Company - 240th CSC, maintenance suppport from the 317th SMC, delicious food from the 55th Quartermaster Company, Movement Control from the 624th Movement Control Team, and even a game room/library provided by MWR! This LSA is critical as it serves as the home base for the transient unit, and is located near the port where all of 1 AD CAB's equipment will be arriving into theater. This is where the movement control teams will work their magic, getting all the equipment loaded for onward movement to it final destination utilizing means such as rail, commercial line haul, and barges. The movement control teams utilize pioneering technologies such as the DRAM to live track moving equipment, giving the Commander's more information to make informed decisions. 1LT Noble of the 624 Movement Control Team stated "we have a great team, we are not only nested with our NATO allies, but also our counterparts from the states. So we can all worked in unison to complete the mission." This goes to show that there are many wheels on the cog required for these LSA and port operations, but with the right people, trained to the highest degree, it's an easily managed task.
