The people that live in thatcountry are called Hindoos. If you should get so much interestedin them by reading this little book, andby looking at the pictures, that you should want to goand see them, you would have to sail across the ocean ina ship. It is so far that it would take you more than ahundred days and nights to get there, going all the you would have to cross over the north Atlantic HINDOO LIFE. ocean down to the equator. Sailors call that the stopping there or seeing any land you would sailon farther south, farther and farther, until you got aroundthe cape of Good Hope. Next you would turn up northward into the Indianocean. After a few days you would come to the beautifulisland of Ceylon.
