Artiés is a population entity in the municipality of Alto Arán, in the third of Artiés and Garós, in the Valle de Arán region. It is located at the confluence of the Garonne River and its Valarties tributary, at an altitude of 1,144 metres. The name of Artiés is of Basque origin and means "plain between two waters".
