I feel, along with A. C. Clerk, that the clerks in the me-chanical department are not given proper consideration. Wehave full office details to look after and keep straight andthis is no easy matter with the Interstate Commerce Commis-sion and the various state commission rulings of the presentday. Added to this, the factory inspection laws and re-quirements which affect some of our states, and the lifeof a clerk in the mechanical department of any railroadis anvthing but a bed of roses.
