In response to the Government cuts to welfare, foodbanks have experienced a significant increase in demand and in September 2013, Kingston foodbank provided food for their 5,000th person. Food is collected from schools, churches, businesses and individuals, who donate non-perishable, in-date food, such as UHT milk, sugar, tuna.
