Aerial view of Dehesa de Abajo, La Puebla del Río, Donana National Park Seville Spain. The Dehesa de Abajo Concerted Nature Reserve is the contact zone between the southernmost lands of the Aljarafe region and the Guadalquivir marshes. By combining Mediterranean forest and marsh habitat, the botanical and fauna richness is very wide. In the reserve and its surroundings there are very appropriate paths for walking, cycling or horseback riding. In its landscape, lagoons such as La Rianzuela stand out, which is surrounded by pure scrub, stone pines and large wild olive trees. Next to the lagoon there are two observatories from which we can admire without disturbing the multiple species that inhabit it, and among which stand out flamingos, fumarelles, spoonbills, red and mallard ducks, red and little grebes, black-tailed godwits, the threatened coot Moorish and marbled teal, and even occasionally, others as interesting as the Malvasia duck, considered in danger of extinction. In the area of the pine forests, birds of prey such as the black kite, some booted eagles and kestrels can be seen and in the wild olive grove we can see the largest white stork breeding colony in Spain.
