The E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System from the 552nd Air Control Wing takes off from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The AWACS was in Nevada to participate in Red Flag 21-3, held July 19 through Aug. 6, 2021. Red Flag provides aircrews the experience of multiple, intensive air combat sorties in the safety of a training environment. The training takes place on the Nevada Test and Training Range, the Air Force’s premier military training area with more than 12,000 square miles of airspace and million acres of land. Nellis is the last stop before warfighters meet adversaries
