The protest, called by the Union of Nursing Technicians (SAE) and in which other organizations and platforms have also participated, had as its main objective to deliver the 60,000 signatures collected to request the review of the qualification of their degree to convert it into a Degree Higher Vocational Training. In addition to this request, health professionals have demanded the removal of the impediments that paralyze their reclassification, the updating of the functions they perform daily and retirement at 60 years without penalties. “The laziness on the part of the political leaders of both ministries is what has caused the deep discomfort of the more than 300,000 health professionals in Vocational Training, both Intermediate and Higher Level, who have not made progress in complying with the their requests”, they have explained through their official website. As the members of the union have reported through a press release, the protest "relied on the interest of the spokesmen for Health and Public Function of the Popular Party (PP), the only political leaders who have joined the demonstration to despite the fact that all the political parties have been called”. The participants of the demonstration have described what happened this Thursday as a "nothing", since none of the ministers have agreed to receive those responsible for SAE to "listen to the voice of the group".
