After the boys from Concord leftwe went back to the cottage and hadour Christmas party given to us byMr. and Mrs. Hinson. We had manynice things to eat and drink. We hadoyster stew, hamburgers, lettuce, slaw,cottage cheese, crackers, cookies, can-dy and all the pepsis we coud mother of one of the boys furnish-ed popcorn. There was so many thingsand so much that the boys could noteat all of it. During the holidays (which also be-gan on the 22) all the boys had a lot THE UPLIFT. Reading leftto right Harry Mintz, Herschal Summers, Jimmy Lockey, Alvin Brown, andCharles Walker. of fun because of the many things thestaff arranged for us to do. We hd •=>movie each afternoon and the boys gota lot of entertainment from thesemovies. We also had the volley balltournament during the holidays. Thesewere a lot of fun because everyone wasa good close game. The last game wasplayed on the 29th, the last day of theholidays. It was a good game betweenCottage No. 1 and Cottage No. 4 play-ing for the championship with CottageNo. 1 winning the championship withthe score of 21 to 18. We had a lot offun doing a lot of things, but the mostfun of all was getting up Christmas morning and opening the certainly was a lot of packagesto be opened in our cottage, and allthe boys got nice presents.
