Staircase of the bell tower of the Cathedral of Valencia in Spain. Fine example of the

Helicoid stone staircase of the bell tower of the Cathedral of Valencia. This tower is called Miguelete and was built on the XIV century next to the cathedral of Valencia. There are 11 bells in the belfry. The oldest one is from 1305 and the newest one from 1735. Here, the bell ringer plays 9 of them in what it's called "repique" (peal). This method of playing has been done since mid XV century. Each clapper is tied to a rope and pulled to make it hit the bell.
