They are faithful members of theMethodist Episcopal church. South. Always a stanchdemocrat, Mr. Renfro has been active in his supportof his partys candidates, while his fraternal connectionis with the local lodge of the Masonic order, with themembers of which he is decidedly (yV~%-<i—-<i,^ ^^ Con-x^ TEXAS AND TEXANS 1801 Heber Stone. One of the ablest and most usefuloituens of Washington county and of the state wasthe late Heber Stone, who died at his home in Bren-ham September 22, 1906. Heber Stone was born in Louisburg, North Carolina,August 26, 1853, a son of D. C. and Mary (Yarbarough) ,Stone. The family moved to Texas about 1858, locatingat Galveston. D, C. Stone was one of Galvestons mostprominent citizens. A successful cotton factor, he hadthe honor of election as the first president of the
