The image is of the 11th, 12th century Norman era Leeds Castle in rural Kent of Southeast England. The castle has featured throughout English medieval history including various Kings and Queens including King Henty VIII. Various wealthy owners have come and gone transforming the castle into more of a fortified house during the Tudor period than successively throughout the architectural styles of the Jacobean and Georgian periods with each phase retains the defensive moat. A few years of neglect followed, when in the early 20th century the castle came into the possession of Lady Baille who set about transforming the decaying castle into a fine country house of style with glamourous and luxurious interiors that remains to this day. The castle is well worth a visit.
