Davina (left) and Molly have been same-sex domestic partners for eight years and had been trying to marry for more than five. On February, 12 of 2004 Davina and Molly were married at San Francisco City hall. In 2004 over 4,000 same sex couples married in San Francisco only to have their marriages nullified by the state of California months later. In May of 2008 the California Supreme Court ruled that the 2004 California law violated the fundamental right of a person to marry the partner of their choice and same-sex marriages began again in California in June of 2008.
