The Tampella factory in the city of Tampere, Finland. Tampere is Scandanavia's largest inland city and renowned for its art and culture scene. It was earlier a major industrial centre, producing textiles, shoes and paper. The water of the Tammerkoski River - seen in the foreground - provided provided power during the early part of the nineteenth century. Tampella started out as a foundry in 1850. This is now a major conference venue.
