Edgar S. Husband, Lieutenant in the U. S. Naval ReserveForce, enlisted April 1, 1917. He was at first stationed alongthe Atlantic coast, but later he spent about eight months inforeign waters. Lieutenant Husband had an engagement with asubmarine in the Bay of Biscay on November 2, 1917, lastingforty-five minutes. The submarine is supposed to have been sunk. He also had command of a mine sweeper on the French coast,(the Hubbard). He was discharged March 26, 1918. 106
