The fins of two short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) can be seen above the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.

Short-finned pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) are frequently seen in the Atlantic Ocean off the southern coast of the Spanish island of Tenerife. The warm waters of this sub-tropical region of the Atlantic are popular with the relatively small short-finned pilot whales, which are listed as "Lower Risk; conservation dependent" on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species.
