A presentation sabre M 1803 for officers, dated 1848 Sturdy, slightly curved single-edged blade, both sides with fuller and decorative gilt etching against a blued background (rubbed). The obverse etched with crowned sovereign's cypher "GR" underneath a royal crown, beneath it the depiction of an officer and maker's signature "Woolley and Deakin", the back of the blade also with maker's signature and inscription "Improved Steel".
