Queenborough, Kent, UK. 26th May 2018. A new ferry service from Queenborough in Kent to the pier in Southend-on-sea, Essex started today. A new boat 'Spirit of Sheppey' operated by Island Cruises Ltd. set off on its inaugural journey this morning. By water the journey is around 6 miles, but considerably longer by car.
