Egypt, The Ramasseum, the memorial temple of Rameses II - was first identified and named by Jean-Francois Champollion. He ruled for 66 yrs and had the wealth and vanity to spend twenty of those years of his reign working on it. The 48 column hypostyle hall is covered with scenes of the Battleof Kadesh. The 'Temple of a Million Years' has been undermined by the inundations of The Nile. Against this backdrop Shelley wrote his poem 'Ozymandias'.
