Manufacturing Company, ofS]4 South JefTerson street, Chicago, Illinois, have added totheir line of low voltage alternating current transfoimers,two new type toy transformers, viz:—No. lA and No. transformers as herein illustrated are equipped withbinding posts for low voltage connections and are de-signed to meet the demand for a highly efficient, low pricedtransformer. They are identical in every respect with thestandard No. 1 and No. 2, the only difference being in theway the secondary or low voltage terminals are made. TheNo. lA has six secondary voltages and the No. 2A tensecondary voltages. Toys and other miniature appliances that require lessthan 40 watts to operate, usually work as well on alter-nating current if the current is not over 60 cycle per sec-. ond, as on battery current. The distinct advantage of lowvoltage toy transformers over dry cells or storage bat-teries for miniature apparatus is readily appreciated by theconsumer. On a transformer there is nothing to outfor the reason that there are no moving parts. The trans-former is assembled in a black enameled steel case andis embedded in a hard, insulating compound, the whole construction rigid and durable. With reasonably fairusage it will last a lifetime. As an investment, nothing canbe purchased for the money that covers as complete a fieldfor the boys study and experimentation as this little trans-former. All transformers are equipped with a flexible con-necting cord and attachment plug. B. C. E. R. Co.
