Ruins of an ancient Jewish synagogue in Arbel in the Lower Galilee. It dates to the 4th century or the Byzantine period. This synagogue was built with Basalt stones as that is the local rock at the foot of the extict volcano Karnei Hittin or the Horns of Hittin. Going further from the ruins are the slopes of Mount Arbel and through the valley on it's left we see the Jordan Valley which is in the Rift valley. Moshav Arbel, Israel. April 2, 2016 Apr. 2016.
