Vertical hauls were made at 1300 o'clock and repeated at 1600, 1700, 2000 and 2100 o'clock, when operations were terminated by the sudden onset of a gale. Con- tinued rough weather prevented further plankton work until the ship sailed for the Falkland Islands on April 21.
