His new system of treatment onlyrequired competent assistance in the work to put itinto practice. In 1877 he found the indispensableassistant in Dr. G. E. Palen, a graduate of Yale andof the Albany medical college, who, upon investi-gation, became in full sympathy with the new treat-ment, which they soon spread far and wide, seeingits healing virtues tested and appreciated by manymen and women occupying foremost places instatesmanship, literature, and mercantile pursuits. FIEIrDEB., George Bragg, soldier, was bornin Jersey City, N. J., July 24, 1843. He is the onlyson of James Fairman Fielder, and was educated atpublic and private schools in his native town. Hewas graduated from the Dickinson lyceum, JerseyCity, and Sellecks school, Norwalk, Conn. Soonafter leaving school, Mr. Fielder engaged in thebanking business, and subsequently with his father.
