Cephalopods were also common () in the stomachs of the scalloped hammerhead with the Octopus sp., Vampyroteuthis infernalis, and Histioteuthis heteropsis most important. A mantis shrimp, Squilla biformis, was also present in the diet of this species. The pelagic red crab, Pleuroncodes planipes, was found in large numbers in the stomachs of C. falciformis.
