Alan Bean (born 1932), US astronaut and engineer. Bean was Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 12 mission, the second manned mission to land on the Moon.


Alan Bean (born 1932), US astronaut and engineer. Bean was Lunar Module Pilot on the Apollo 12 mission, the second manned mission to land on the Moon. Apollo 12 reached the Moon on the 19th November 1969 and Bean became the fourth man to walk on the Moon. In 1973 Bean was the spacecraft commander of Skylab 3, the second manned mission to the US Skylab space station. The mission lasted 59 days, a world record at the time.
