A sign for the Green Chain Walk in Ravensbourne Woods, South London

The Green Chain Walk links a series of open spaces in South East London from the river near Erith to Crystal Palace following a route of over 16 miles with a number of circular routes. The first work to create the walk was started in 1977 by the GLC and the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark.
