Trevor Baylis, inventor of the famous wind up clockwork radio at the Strawberry Hill Festival - Strawberry Hill House, Waldegrave Road. Trevor makes an appearance with his silver E Type Jaguar each year. He is a local celebrity and entrepreneur. He appears at many networking events. "Always patent your ideas" is his advice. After approaching many major companies with the idea of his clockwork radio, he was turned away repeatedly. He was told the radio had no market and so he decided to market it himself. The radio has been a huge success in developing countries as well as in the developed world and is a sustainable and green alternative to battery or electrically driven radios. This is obviously vital for parts of the world that have no access to power. It's a fantastic communication tool that only requires your own energy.
