Both Mr. and Mrs. Knapp own farm property in this county and from theirholdings derive a substantial annual income. Their children are: Frank E., whois now engaged in the jewelry business in Waterloo; Myrtle, the wife of HerbertPett, of Waterloo township; Pearl, who married Joseph Kern, foreman for theCherokee Manufacturing Company of Cherokee, Iowa; Mamie, who is with theBankers Accident Insurance Company, of Waterloo; and Bessie, Forrest, Maudand Clair, all at home. Mr. Knapp holds membership with the Modern Woodmen of America andwith the American Yeomen. His entire life has been passed in this county, sothat he is numbered among its pioneer settlers, having been a witness of thegrowth and development of this section of the
