Gibber plains of Sturt National Park, Corner country near Tibbooburra, Outback NSW Australia
We'd left Tibooburra and were on our way to Burke on about 400 plus kilometres of clay roads. We were going to camp at the Jump ups in Sturt National Park but another weather front was on its way, and it was already drizzling. Out here, after a deluge of rain weeks and months prior that means road closures, so the race was on to beat the rain. But an opportunity to pop in along the way and visit parts of the Sturt National Park was hard to miss. So a little diversion was in the making.
