Acredit of $500 advanced within the pastfew weeks from Secretary F. E. Raymondwipes out all liabilities of the Albertabranch. The question of what Alberta membersshould pay for the services rendered bythe Saskatchewan office was brought outlined. Alberta has paid all its ex-penses with the exception of a pro ratiopayment of office T. A. GAETZ, General merchant of Red Deer, Alta., elected President for the coming year. President Gaetz explained to the 1918convention Alberta was to pay 25 per cent,of the running expenses of the office atSaskatoon, though he added that this wasnot a hard and fast bargain. W. J. Illsey, Calgary, thought 25 percent, was too much for the service beingrendered by the Saskatoon office to Al-berta retailers. This proportion had beenarrived at merely on the basis of compara-cive membership in the two associations. The suggestion of a settlement with theSaskatchewan office was not favored byche delegates. On the other hand it wasproposed to have the executive committeesof the two associations meet and arriveat some working basis whereby Albertamight in future conduct its own affairsand handle its own finances. A delegate from Edmonton suggested thatthe organization at Saskatoon give moreservice to Alberta retailers than had beendone. He thought it
