Chalcopyrite on barite. Small brassy-golden crystals of chalcopyrite on the surface of a lump of barite rock. Barite (barium sulphate) is a widely occurring mineral and an ore for the production of a variety of industrial products. Chalcopyrite is mineral consisting of copper iron sulphide. This sample was found in Germany and measures around 140 millimetres wide.
