Charles Milne was a man of strong charac-ter and of much worth to the community, hav-ing gained the respect and confidence of hisfellow-citizens, who sincerely regretted hisloss. The maiden name of his wife, mother, was Jean Black. She wasalso a native of Scotland, where she marriedMr. Milne. She was a most estimable lady,possessing many rare Christian qualities, andwas the mother of six children, five of whomwere born in Scotland and came to this coun-try with their parents.
