It is now recognized as a species, although comparatively nothing isknown of its habits or range. It has been taken in Cuba and I have beentold that a specimen was killed on the west coast, but I could not learn theexact localitv. I know of no positive record of its occurrence in Florida, butit is nrobablv an accidental winter visitant. Genus ANSER Brissox.
