The monument, or sculptural composition dedicated to Polar explorers of Arctica and Antarctica, St Petersburg, Russia


A monument, or sculptural composition, is a two-meter-high figure of a man in fur clothes. The image of a polar explorer is collective. A tall man in 20th century clothing. At the foot there are two dogs - constant participants in all polar expeditions. On the stone, symbolizing the block of ice, the inscription is carved: "For those who walked first, those who are walking now, those who have yet to pass." The chief sculptor is Boris Sergeev, a member of the Union of Artists.
