'Geneva', 1891. Decorative coat of arms for the city of Geneva, capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. In the centre is a key, one of the two 'keys of heaven' of St Peter, surmounted by a cross and the motto 'Post Tenebras Lux', (Light After Darkness, from Job 17:12). The design incorporates the double-headed eagle of the Holy Roman Empire and the Sun's rays.
