Agave, Century Plants, Agave parryi, Coconino National Forest, Arizona
The Century Plant blooms once in its lifetime and then dies leaving a tall wooden seed stalk. The plant is called the century plant because of this "once a century" blooming but it actually lives approximately 25 years.
