The terminal leaves on each shoot may develop a little more than the lateral ones, and form tufted rosettes. The trouble is nonparasitic. Little-leaf may be corrected by applications of zinc sulfate (p. 141, 161). An effective method for apples is to spray the trees in the dormant season with zinc sulfate, 50 pounds to 100 gallons of water in the first year, and 25 pounds to 100 gallons in subsequent yeai's.
