Anastatica hierochuntica, native to Syria, Arabia and Egypt, was revered by ancient Hebrews, Christians and Moslems alike. The Jews called it the Rose of Jericho; the Christians, the Rosa Mariae, the Rose of the Virgin, or the Resurrection plant; and the Moslems, Kaf Marjam.
