Women are moving irregularly,and perhaps illogically, along certain lines of development toward a pointthat will probably be reached; while conservatism, halting and fearful, isstruggling blindly to hold points and maintain lines that must be given up. Unfortunately for the rapidity of womens advancement, women them-selves have no thoroughness, no clearness, as to the fundamental cause oftheir grievances or the ends to be attained, and are not yet alive to a con-sciousness of the fact that the question of womans rights is simply andpurely a question of human rights, the basic solution of which, on the broadplane of justice, will solve all the social, political, and industrial problems ofwhich the woman question forms a part.
