It contains all the necessary plant food for almost all kinds of plants. Before using it should be thoroughly moistened, and the bulbs planted in the same way as if soil were used. A special feature of this material is that bulbs can be grown in it in jardinieres, fern dishes and other receptacles without drainage. After watering, the jardinieres or dishes should be turned on their side to allow any surplus water to drain off. The treatment after planting in this material is the same as when planted in soil.
