War Memorial cross opposite the West door of Winchester Cathedral. The cross is surmounted by a carved wreath of the roses of England and the lilies of France. The shaft is octagonal. At its base on four sides are the arms of the county of Hampshire,the Isle of Wight,the city of Winchester, and the Hampshire Regiment. Believed to have been designed by Herbert Baker.
