"Love Locks" are seen attached to various parts of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York on Friday, February 15, 2013. Over the last few years couples around the world have been proclaiming their love during life events such as anniversaries and weddings by attaching locks on bridges and other public spaces. The NYC Dept. of Transportation regularly comes by and clips the locks, which are illegal to attach, making way for new pronouncements of love. (© Richard B. Levine)
