Nelsons Sparrow;Nelsons Sharp-tailed ; two specimens reported taken Oct. 5, 1878, in Gibbs Michigan Birds;reported from Northwestern Indiana, where perhaps it is a summer resident (But-lers Birds of Indiana). Not rare in northern part of the state; summer months; rare and irregular atAnn Arbor (Dr. J. B. Steere); Sault Ste. Marie (A. ); rare in MonroeCounty, where two nests have been found (Jerome Trombley); May to Aug.; arrivesin flocks; breeds irregularly and often very locally (Dr. W. C. Brownell); breeds inthe Northern Peninsula (Prof. Ludwig Kumlein); nests in June on the ground or inbushes; eggs four to six, white with irregular lines of black or brown; locally com-mon, breeds (Gibbs). Dr. Atkins makes no mention of this bird but we have takenit here. Genus ZONOTKICHIA Swain. 234-554-(276). Zonotrichia leucophrys (Forst.).
