Rhymney valley, Wales, UK. 30th September, 2015. The former site of two collieries, is now a wonderful leisure facility for local people. The park, with lakes and monuments to the men who mined coal, blend into the landscape which has again become, green and pleasant. The Rhymney Valley, in the south Wales coalfield, was once covered in coal spoil. Credit: roger tiley/Alamy Live News
