St Bride's Church, Fleet Street, designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1672 and built on the site of an earlier church dedicated to St Bridget or St Bride of Klidare in the 6th century. The spire is said to have been the inspiration for a local baker to create the first tiered wedding cake.
