FORT BENNING, Ga. (Aug. 9, 2018) – The Army Garrison Fort Benning Directorate of Public Works recently installed a “Smartflower” at their Environmental Learning Center just south of the Benning Road gate at Fort Benning, Georgia. The solar array converts sunlight into direct current electricity via photovoltaic cells and maintains effective collection by tracking the sun throughout the day and brushing itself clear of dust when it folds up at night.
